African Hills Wedding and Farm Venue is excited to announce that our "Season for Seniors" drive is returning this year, and we would be very grateful to have you participate once again. This year, we will be focusing on underprivileged communities in Cullinan, St Joseph’s in Bronkhorstspruit, and the residents at Kungwini Welfare.

For those who joined us last year, a heartfelt thank you! Together, we made an incredible impact. For those who are new to the initiative, here are a few more details about this meaningful cause.

The Season for Seniors drive is our way of supporting the elderly in the Bronkhorstspruit area and surrounding communities. These seniors often find themselves alone in old age homes, without support from family, friends, or relatives. Many have been sadly abandoned, or their relatives simply cannot afford to care for them.

Last year, thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to put together over a hundred gift bags filled with essential items. The gratitude and appreciation from the recipients were overwhelming, and this year, we aim to do even more. Items that many of us take for granted—such as a face cloth, toothpaste, or a box of tissues—hold immense value for those in need and help instill a sense of dignity and worth in those who otherwise feel abandoned and forgotten.

In addition to the gift bags, African Hills hosted a Christmas lunch for the seniors who visited the venue. It was a day eagerly anticipated by all, as it gave them the rare opportunity to leave the confines of the old age home. They received a warm welcome from our staff and volunteers, followed by a tractor ride around the farm to visit the children at the African Blessings Children’s Village. A highlight of the day, which left many of us misty-eyed, was seeing them interact with the animals at our Animal Sanctuary. The comfort of a furry friend is so often overlooked in these old age homes, and it was remarkable to witness the sheer happiness that everyone experienced that day. These moments served as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have by coming together as a community.

Your contribution, whether big or small, will help us continue this tradition of care and compassion. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who might otherwise feel forgotten.

The drive this year is open from now until 1 December 2024—donations can be delivered to the various drop-off points around the office parks, or if you do not have time to shop, we can do the shopping for you via an online donation. Online donations can be made via the African Hills Online Store at

https://www.africanhills.org/online-store/Season-for-Seniors-Donation-p510280190.

After 1 December 2024, we will assemble the gift bags and distribute them to the elderly in need in the Cullinan and Wolmer areas, as well as to the residents at Kungwini Welfare. If you would like to volunteer to be part of the team on distribution days, pack bags, collect items, or contribute to the drive in any way, kindly email bookings@africanhills.org for further details. We appreciate all the help.

Thank you for your continued support and for joining us in this important cause.
